CALF BREEDING IN INDIVIDUAL CALF BOXES Calves born with a lack of immune response against the disease agents. Birth of cows and the other live stock in barns and shelters cause to the contamination of the living environment. Borning calves in such contagious environment, exposed to many risk factors; diarrhoea, respiratory diseases etc. The aim of individual raising of calves is to keep them away from the contagious environment and supply them a clean and healthy living atmosphere.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION There are 2 ways of ventilation, on the top and behind side of the fiber part. Fiber raw materials have an approximately 25 years consistent in use. Fiber part consist of 3 layers and the resistance for heat and environment conditions is much more than the similiar raw materials. Heat transmission coefficient is 3 times less than plastic materials; this supplies a good heat isolation. The dye particuls put into fiber raw material directly while manufacturing process; the fading of dye and scratching of fiber do not occurs. Breaking of the fiber part, can be repaired. There is no interaction between disinfectants. Material is suitable for cleaning and to supply hygienic conditions. The metal part consists of pipe: 21 mm. diameter, 1.5 mm thickness. Resistant to rusting and dye is oven dye.

 What does a calf need? Health and survival of the newborn calf depend on its care and environment. The greatest mortality and morbidity period for calves is the first 6-8 weeks from birth.
Housing often is the weakest link in calf raising. A good baby-calf raising facility must minimize environmental stress on both calves and manager. Housing must protect calves from exposure to disease organisms and stress to minimize the incidence of scours and pneumonia.

General housing requirements for newborn-calves:

• Individual housing to prevent contact among calves.
• Isolation from all older animals.
• Well ventilation.

• Clean, dry, with ample bedding.
• Convenient location for regular observation.
• Feeding system for liquids, starter grains and hay.
